Proof
Matt Ferguson, the founder, grew a family-owned Texas producer about 20x, from 118 to 2,340 boepd between 2002 and 2015, and closed four asset sales totaling $41.9MM, all funded from internal cash flow and self-liquidating bank debt with no outside equity. He later rebuilt production about 4.2x, from 384 boepd in 2019 to 1,605 boepd in November 2022, mostly at a Louisiana field bought out of bankruptcy for $250,000.
In three days of diligence on a $60MM+ acquisition package, he found more than $5MM of mispricing, mostly understated plugging liability and expiring leases, and the client walked away from the deal. He has also founded oilfield service companies in coil tubing, wireline and fishing. Danain Advisory is the platform through which that experience is now made available to other companies.
